Listed below are the special procedures and deadline(s) if applicable for each selective transfer program at Ohio University. Contact the appropriate college, school or department for more information about transferring into that program.

Regular application deadlines for all quarters

Applicants must have completed courses equivalent to each of the following four courses and have a minimum accumulative grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) from a two or four year college/university: ECON 103 (Principles of Microeconomics);
ECON 104 (Principles of Macroeconomics); ENG 151, OR 152, OR 153 (Freshman English Composition); and MATH 163A (Introduction to Calculus).

Regular application deadlines for all quarters

External applicants must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours of credit with a minimum accumulative g.p.a. of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Current Ohio University students should e-mail james@ohio.edu for transfer guidelines.

E. W. Scripps School of Journalism

October 1st for winter quarter
March 1st for fall quarter
(Students may apply only once per academic year.)

Applicants must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours with a 3.0 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. Admission is selective and not guaranteed; approximately 40 transfer applicants are accepted each year. An additional separate application, available from the School or online at www.scrippsjschool.org, must be completed prior to deadline.

May 15th for fall quarter
Applicants must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours with a 3.0 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. Admission is selective and not guaranteed.

Regular application deadlines for all quarters
Applicants must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours with 3.0 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must submit additional materials that will be reviewed by a faculty committee before an admission decision will be made. Information about the additional materials is available online at www.viscom.ohiou.edu or by contacting the School directly.

Applicants must have completed 30 quarter or 20 semester hours with a 2.5 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. In addition to regular admission guidelines, applicants must demonstrate ability in math and science including one year each of chemistry and physics.

Regular application deadlines for all quarters
Applicants must have completed 30 quarter or 20 semester hours with a 2.5 accumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale. In addition to meeting Ohio University academic guidelines, applicants to programs in Dance and Music must audition.
College of Fine Arts:
School of Art
 

Regular application deadlines for all quarters

Applicants to the School of Art must have an accumulative g.p.a. of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale and must not be ranked beyond junior standing. Admission is selective and not guaranteed. All students must complete prerequisite courses and submit a portfolio before entering a specific art major.
College of Health and Human Services:
Athletic Training Education

Regular application deadlines for all quarters

Applicants must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours with a 2.5 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. Admission is selective and not guaranteed. Students interested in athletic training enter Ohio University into a pre-athletic training major. Consult the athletic training education web site for selective admission information.
College of Health and Human Services:
Exercise Physiology
Regular application deadlines for all quarters
Applicants to Exercise Physiology must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours with a 2.5 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. Admission is selective and not guaranteed. Students interested in exercise physiology will enter Ohio University into a pre-exercise physiology major. Upon successful completion of ten core courses with a grade of “C” or better, students must apply for admission to the major.
College of Health and Human Services:
Interior Architecture
Regular application deadlines for all quarters
Applicants must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours with a 2.5 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. Admission is selective (maximum 18 students per year) and not guaranteed. All students must submit and pass a portfolio review. This review takes place once each year after conclusion of the fall quarter. Applicants must consult with the program coordinator regarding transfer course applicability to the portfolio process. More information is available on the Interior Architecture web site.

Nursing

Not offered on the Athens campus

May be completed at the Chillicothe, Zanesville or Southern regional campuses. For additional information about the regional campuses, visit the Regional Higher Education web site.

Physical Education
Regular application deadlines for all quarters
Applicants to Physical Education must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours with a 2.5 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. Admission is selective and not guaranteed. Students interested in physical education will enter Ohio University into a pre-physical education major. Upon successful completion of a 2.75 minimum accumulative g.p.a., nine specific courses with a grade of “C” or better and a skill/fitness assessment with a score of 75% or higher, students must apply for admission to the major.
College of Health and Human Services:
Sport Industry
 
Regular application deadlines for all quarters
Applicants to Sport Industry must have completed 48 quarter or 32 semester hours with a 2.5 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale. Admission is selective and not guaranteed. Students interested in sport industry will enter Ohio University into a pre-sport industry major. Upon successful completion of a 2.5 minimum accumulative g.p.a and successful completion of seven specific courses with a grade of “C” or better, students must apply for admission to the major.
University College:
Criminal Justice

Regular application deadlines for all quarters

Applicants must have completed an associate’s degree in a related field and have a 2.5 accumulative g.p.a. on a 4.0 scale.
