Ohio University provides all federal Title IV need-based financial aid programs; all Ohio aid programs; and a variety of grants, loans and scholarships. Need-based aid is available only to U.S. citizens and permanent residents. Over two-thirds of our students receive some type of financial assistance from various sources. Financial Aid Timeline for Incoming Freshmen
It's important to think about paying for college as early as possible. We have prepared a timetable for you to help guide you along the path to securing financial assistance.

• Junior Year of High School
  Begin researching scholarship sources by visiting your guidance counselor, local library, browsing the internet and sending letters to civic organizations. It may take several weeks to get a response from scholarship sponsors so be sure to start this process no later than the summer before your senior year.
• January of Senior Year
  The student and parent(s) each need to apply for their own federal PIN number during or before January of the student's senior year.
• February of Senior Year
  The FAFSA needs to be filed no later than February 15 to meet our priority deadline of March 15. By meeting the prioirty deadline, the student will be considered for all federal, state and institutional financial aid.
• April of Senior Year
  If we receive your FAFSA results by our March 15 priority deadline, students should receive a financial aid award letter in April notifying them of their eligibility for financial aid.
