The Ohio University PSEO program will accept appropriately qualified high school freshman through seniors whom reside within the county area surrounding each campus. 

 

Athens Campus: Athens, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Morgan, Perry, Vinton, or Washington counties

                       

Chillicothe Campus: Adams, Fayette, Fairfield, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Pickaway, Pike, Ross, or Vinton counties

                       

Eastern Campus: Belmont, Guernsey, Harrison, Jefferson, Monroe, Noble, or Tuscarawas counties

                       

Lancaster Campus: Fairfield, Franklin, Hocking, Licking, Perry, Pickaway, or Ross counties

                       

Southern Campus: Adams, Galia, Jackson, Lawrence, Pike, or Scioto Counties

 

Zanesville Campus: Coshocton, Guernsey, Licking, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, or Tuscarawas counties

Applications are available March 1^st online at www.ohio.edu/admissions/forms/, the admissions office, or student services offices on each campus.  A limited number of applications are sent to local high schools and are available in the school guidance office.  Applications are due by May 1^st prior to the academic year in which you plan to enroll.

Students applying for PSEOP at Ohio University's main campus in Athens, OH must meet the following criteria:

Rising Seniors and Juniors:

• Must have a 3.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) AND have a 25 ACT or 1130 SAT (math and critical reading) composite test score from one testing date.  
  

 OR

• Must have a 3.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) AND a 20 ACT or 950 SAT (math and critical reading)  
  

 Note: The writing component of the ACT is required as part of the PSEOP application review process. Also, overall grade point averages are not calculated to higher grade point average (for
 example, a 3.499 does not convert to a 3.5 grade point average).  
 
Rising Freshmen and Sophomores:  

• Must meet the above criteria AND submit a letter of support from an English teacher or high school counselor that describes the applicant's maturity and academic readiness for a college curriculum.

Undergraduate Admissions will notify students of the PSEOP admission decision. Students admitted into PSEOP must attend an orientation session in order to register for courses. Students will be contacted with information about orientation dates/times.  
 
If a student is accepted into PSEOP and does not enroll for the first term after admission, he or she must call Undergraduate Admissions to update his or her enrollment for a future term.

OPTION A

Option A students are responsible for all regular tuition and fees and must purchase their own textbooks and supplies.  You will receive a bill each quarter that you enroll, and must pay the bill by the established deadlines.

 

OPTION B

Option B students have their college courses paid for by a transfer of state funds from the high school to the university.  Option B students receive both high school and college credit for courses completed.

If you have qualified for either the Option A or B program but do not begin classes fall quarter you must update your entry term with the Admissions Office by calling 593-4105 or 593-4108.  After updating your entry term with the Admissions Office come to University College, 140 Chubb Hall, after the sixth week of the quarter with your ID to get new registration materials.

Students attending nonpublic schools may participate in a Post Secondary Enrollment Program by contacting the Ohio Department of Education and requesting a copy of the policies and procedures for nonpublic school student participation.  In the Athens area call 740-592-6622 or write Ohio Department of Education, School Finance, 449-A E. State St., Athens Ohio 45701.

 

Under no circumstance should a nonpublic school student register for courses on any campus as a PSEOP student without documentation of funding through the Department of Education.
