| | Day of Dialogue
In response to the call by President McDavis for a redoubling of effort to reduce high-risk drinking, the Office of the Dean of Students convened a campus-wide Day of Dialogue on February 21, 2006 at the Walter Hall Rotunda.
Over 150 students and student leaders, faculty, alumni, University and Athens leaders, community leaders and members, and administrators considered high-risk drinking at Ohio University and evaluated potential new or altered strategies for reducing it. Possible strategies were developed by a Student Affairs Task Force in the period August, 2005 with a thorough response and analysis provided by Student Senate.
The input from the Day of Dialogue was essential to developing the University’s revised strategies to reduce high-risk drinking that were announced by President McDavis on May 24, 2006 and went into effect with the opening of the fall term, 2006. |
