Career Fair User’s Guide

Travel
Athens is located approximately seventy-five miles from Columbus, Ohio, on Route 33 and approximately thirty-five miles west of Parkersburg, West Virginia, along Route 50. Most major airports serve either Port Columbus International Airport or the smaller Wood County Airport in Parkersburg. Allow two hours travel from Columbus and forty-five minutes from Parkersburg.
Lodging
We reserve a block of rooms at the Ohio University Inn & Conference Center, located two-tenths of a mile from the event site. The Ohio University Inn has agreed to offer a reduced rate to career fair participants. We encourage you to make your reservations as soon as possible. Be sure to tell them you are attending the career fair.

Parking
There is a pay-station garage located beneath the Baker University Center.
A limited number of free parking has been arranged for Career Services guests within this facility. Please ensure arrival prior to 8:30 a.m. for the best parking options within this facility. If the garage should be full, alternative parking may be found in the following areas:
Lot 134--the dark green lot located next to Walter Hall. Please refrain from parking within the reserved and metered spaces within this lot. All fees must be paid at a meter.
Lot 133--the purple lot located behind Peden Stadium.
Lot 132--the purple lot located in front of Peden Stadium. Please refrain from parking within the reserved and metered spaces within this lot. All fees must be paid at a meter.
Lots 128 & 129--the dark green and purple rings surrounding the Convocation Center. Please refrain from parking within the reserved and metered spaces within this lot. All fees must be paid at a meter. Please do not park in the Convocation Center Garage as this is not an included parking area for Career Fair guests.
Lot 84--Next to Clippinger Hall. Please be aware: there are several lots near Clippinger Hall. Only Lot 84 is available for Career Fair parking. Please check the lot entrance sign prior to parking.
Please park within a valid, legal space at all times. Parking in a non-parking area or a lot outside the lots listed above will result in a violation. Please obey all posted signage related to parking.

Shipping
Unfortunately, the Office of Career Services has a very limited capacity to store and deliver packages to the career fair. However, if you must ship materials ahead, please use the following address:

All displays and materials should be received by Career Services no later than one week prior to the event. The employer is responsible for making arrangements with their preferred carrier for the return of their materials. Your carrier can pick up the items on the day of the event between 3:00-4:00 p.m. at the Baker University Center Ballroom located on the fourth floor.
Advertising
One effective way to reach a large number of students is to advertise in Ohio University's daily student newspaper The Post. Highest readership days are Mondays and Thursdays. To place an ad, please contact The Post at 740.593.4010.

Another effective way to reach students is through the approximately 360 student organizations on campus. A complete listing can be found at www.ohio.edu/sorgs.
