Pre-Engineering Program Goals
PEP's goal: To give each student a strong academic foundation as well as to increase the expectation that students will complete engineering degree requirements.
PEP includes: Enrichment workshops (résumé writing, library orientation, career services visit, cooperative education presentation, etiquette dinner, plant tour); and personalized counseling and follow-up mentoring throughout the first year by the program coordinator, upperclass engineering students, and other individuals at Ohio University.
PEP requires: Hard work – but not all hard work. It is also a social experience, one of developing friendships and learning one's way through the network of a university – an experience that helps stimulate initiative and can result in high enthusiasm.
