McAfee Security has an enhanced graphical user interface and safeguards your Mac from viruses, Trojan horses, and other malware.
The Office of Information Technology is providing this software at no cost to faculty, staff and currently enrolled students. This includes university-owned computers as well as home computers. Free updates are also available at no cost.
System Requirements:
Hardware: Mac Computer with an Intel or PowerPC processor, 1GB RAM or higher, minimum 300 MB of free disk space (500 MB recommended).
Software: Max OS X Snow Leopard (10.6 or later), Mac OS X Leopard (10.5 or later), or Mac OS X Tiger (10.4.6 or later) operating system.
Previous Version Note: If you already have virus software installed on your Mac, either from a competitor like Norton or an earlier version of Virex, you need to uninstall that software before installing this version!
