How to Obtain Software:
University-Owned Machines

- Upgrade Licenses: University-owned machines can be upgraded to the most recent OS. OIT has paid for these licenses through October 2010. A license is needed for each machine a new OS is installed.
- Media (DVDs): Installation DVDs for the Mac OS cost $20. One set of media can do multiple departmental installs. Media cannot be borrowed.
- A departmental Oracle FMS account number is needed for the media charge.

The Technology Depot offers "boxed copies" to students and f/s for home use. Apple's online student price is $29. The Technology Depot sells Snow Leopard 10.6 to students for $29 plus sales tax. Leopard 10.5 is still available as well for $83 plus sales tax.
Purchase your "boxed copy" from Technology Depot, Baker University Center, 112 (Tech Depot Hours).
NOTE: Mac OS X Snow Leopard Up-to-Date Program
If you’ve purchased a qualifying computer on or after June 8, 2009 that does not include Mac OS X Snow Leopard, you can upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard for $9.95. This purchase is available directly from Apple (not thru the Technology Depot.
