Microsoft Eligibility

Who is eligible?:

Students

Students must be currently enrolled in at least one class that, when completed, will result in the awarding of credit hours verifiable through the Office of the Registrar.  To purchase license/media (DVDs/CDs) a student must provide their Ohio University ID card so current enrollment can be verified.

Once students purchase the license, they own the license at the time of purchase.  If and when a new version is released, students will have the option to purchase a new license/CD at that time (assuming they are still a currently registered student).

Faculty and Staff

Under the Campus Agreement, you have the right to use the Software for campus-related purposes at home. You are not licensed to use the Software at home for personal purposes. You do not own the license(s) or the CDs, rather you are authorized to use the Software and associated media pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Microsoft Campus Agreement during the licensed period. You will be required to remove the Software from your home machine immediately upon expiration of the licensed period or earlier if your employment by Ohio University ends.

Who is not eligible?

If you are not a currently registered student, faculty or staff (as described above), you are not permitted to purchase or install the software. For example, the following people are not eligible:

  • anyone enrolled exclusively in non-credit courses
  • conference attendees
  • alumni
  • retired faculty or staff, whether or not they have official emeritus status granted by the Ohio University Board of Trustees
  • visitors
  • parents, spouses or siblings of current Ohio University students
  • companies, and their employees, who have been hired by Ohio University on a contractual basis for services on campus or off campus
