Office Suite that includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.

Note: Publisher is NOT included.

System Requirements:

Personal computer with an Intel Pentium III or equivalent processor recommended; 233-megahertz (MHz) required. Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent processor will provide optimal performance
128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or above recommended
400 MB of available hard disk space; 190 MB of hard disk space for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager Optional installation files cache (recommended) requires an additional 290 MB of available hard disk space
Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3 (SP3) or later; or Windows XP or later
Super VGA (800 × 600) or a higher-resolution monitor

Obtaining Departmental Copies of CD for University-Owned Machines

Athens Campus - Departments can purchase CDs from Computer Services Center, Room 003B (M-F, 8-5) or contact sitelicenses@ohio.edu with departmental account information. CDs can be used for installation of the software on Ohio University-owned computers only.

There is no departmental charge for the license. The license has been paid for by the university. CDs are $10 per set.

Regional Campus - Departments can contact the library located on their regional campus, except at the Southern Campus where the Computer Services staff should be contacted. CDs can be used for installation of the software on Ohio University-owned computers only.

Students & Faculty/Staff for Home-Use

Office XP is not available to students or faculty/staff for home-use since it is not the most current version of Office.

Support:

SP2 required for legal reasons (see FAQs). A recent court case has determined that certain portions of code found in Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003, Microsoft Office Access 2003, Microsoft Office XP Professional and Microsoft Office Access 2002 infringe a third-party patent. Visit Microsoft's site to download SP2 for Office XP.
