| Special Projects Fund Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Specialized Studies degree program may apply for funding to support a research project or experiential learning activity related to their programs of study. The fund cannot be used for projects that could be accomplished through a traditional course offering or independent study. Appropriate projects would be expenses for participation in conferences and workshops relevant to the student's degree program, supplies for art projects, and research related expenses. One grant of $100-$500 per individual is available to students meeting the following qualifications: 1. current enrollment in the BSS program 2. minimum of 120 credit hours earned 3. good academic standing 1. An essay describing the project including its relevance to your BSS degree program is required. 2. A projected, itemized budget must also be included with the application. (Receipts for expenses incurred, up to the amount funded, must be submitted for reimbursement.) 3. A letter of recommendation from your advisor or a faculty member. The letter should address the relevance of the project to your BSS degree program and the feasibility of completion of the project. The letter may be attached or sent directly to Lora Munsell, BSS Director. The application will be reviewed by the program director, Lora Munsell, and Dean of University College. - publication of an alternative literary magazine
- study at the Gauladet Institute
- study of the Polar color transfer process
- study at the American Dance Festival
- workshop in Intensive Mediation Training
The required application may be downloaded by selecting one of the formats below and saving to a disk. Please print out the application and then neatly type or print (using a black pen) the requested information. If you experience difficulty downloading, you may bring in an IBM-formatted disk when meeting with your advisor. Traditional printed materials are also available, but all students will need to word process the final proposal (except for the cover page). |
